And so they tumbled out
Like drowning words
Bursting to the surface
Needing Air
Neither of us ready
Or wanting to own them
They hung there between us
These little bits of darkness
Like shards of broken glass
But a passing sun
Caught their colors
And made them shimmer
A sigh of wind
Made them tremble
And chime
In beautiful sorrow
We smiled at this broken music
And walked away
Leaving that fragile melody
Unresolved
